EZ-BOND-WS
WATER SOLUBLE TEMPORARY ADHESIVE

EZ-Bond-WS is a water soluble, biodegradable, non-toxic, non-hazardous polymer based adhesive used to make temporary and permanent bonds.

EZ-Bond-WS is ideal for bonding metals, wood, epoxy glass, fiberboard, ceramics and many other materials.  EZ-Bond-WS exhibits tensile strength of 50-100 psi on aluminum and resists most organic solvents, including toluene, methyl-ethyl-ketone, jet fuel, and d-limonene.  If the bond is mechanically broken, it can simply be moistened and re-joined.  EZ-BOND-WS retains its bond strength even after temperature cycling between 30 and 60 C at 85% humidity!

Used as a temporary adhesive, it is easily removed by reheating to its reflow temperature of 225 C, and then soaking the previously bonded components in water for several hours. EZ-BOND is available in powder form and is simply diluted in water for use as an adhesive or sealant.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

v      Temporary bond for polishing, lapping and dicing specimens sensitive to solvents.

v      Bonding metals, textiles, ceramics, glass or wood.

v      Gas tank sealant.

v      Temporarily mounting substrates for electron microscopy.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES

1)  Dissolve EZ-BOND-WS powder in water using the above chart to achieve desired viscosity. Please note that the ratio of powder to liquid is weight %.  You may also add a small amount of ethanol in lieu of water to speed the drying process.

2)  Apply a layer of EZ-BOND to materials using a brush, spatula or knife. Glue line should be between 0.001 and 0.010 inches thick.  Apply pressure evenly to the substrate to remove entrapped air.

3)  The assembly can be air dried or heat cured at temperatures less than 125 C.

4)  To remove the parts, re-heat the assembly to 225 C, and then clean with water to remove residue. If heating is not possible, simply soak in water for several hours.
